  Duo Sylvie Dambrine Marcel Ege  

The French flautist Sylvie Dambrine and the Swiss guitarist Marcel Ege met in 1996. Since then they have performed together on stage regularly at home and abroad.

Sylvie Dambrine

Sylvie Dambrine was born in Nantes. She completed her basic study under Guy Cottin and her vocational study under Michel Debost at the Conservatoire National SupÈrieur de Paris, achieving first prize. She then undertook further studies under Aurële Nicolet. She completed her soloist's diploma under Jean-Claude Gèrard. She studied the transverse flute under Oskar Peter at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis from 1997 to 2001.

Sylvie Dambrine has performed in various ensembles since 1990, including the Zurich Baroque Ensemble and Zurich Opera Orchestra. Since 1997 she has performed solo flute, specializing in the transverse flute, with the Collegium Musicum Lucerne Ensemble, the Aargau Wind Soloists and the Chapelle Ancienne.

Marcel Ege

Marcel Ege was born in Brussels and grew up in Zurich. After completing his Matura, he studied classical guitar at the Zurich Music Academy under Walter Feybli, concluding his studies with a teaching and concert diploma. Further studies led him to Pepe Romero, Roberto Aussel and Stephan Schmidt. During his studies, Marcel Ege started to work intensively with the flamenco guitar.

He worked with the crème de la crème of the flamenco scene in Spain and southern France. From an early stage in his career Marcel Ege appeared in concerts as a solo performer, with an orchestra as well as with various chamber music ensembles. He is a founding member of the internationally successful Eos Guitar Quartet.
